At the exporter of house and garden plants Green Solutions, they want to do what they do well. In detail. This also applies to the onboarding process for new employees. That's why the e-learning Basic Skills Dynamics NAV from Axelio Academy has been part of it for many years.
Green Solutions supplies garden centers, DIY stores, discount shops, and supermarkets across Europe with garden and house plants. "When we started this formula in 2004, it quickly became clear how important a good onboarding process is," emphasizes Richard Daniëls from Green Solutions. "Not only to ensure that people quickly find their way and can fill their first weeks meaningfully, but also to give new colleagues blocks in the onboarding process that they can work on independently. That's why we meticulously developed our onboarding. We sometimes refer to it as 'the green monster'. It includes, among other things, a schedule for at least the first two weeks and an e-learning about our ERP system Navision."
Green Solutions has been using the e-learning Basic Skills Dynamics NAV since 2017. Richard: "Actually, from the moment we migrated from the 2009 to the 2017 version of Navision. It looked completely different, and the entire organization had to learn to work with it. Once everyone had completed the module, we immediately thought: this is also something for new employees. In fact, looking back, it seems interesting for many companies working with Navision to include such an e-learning module in their onboarding process."

The e-Learning Basic Skills Dynamics NAV from Axelio Academy is a practical button training that quickly familiarizes you with the user interface of Navision. The training consists of four parts: navigating in NAV, the screen structure, the role center with personalization options, and finally extracting information. Each part lasts 10-20 minutes and is divided into a demonstration, an exercise, and a test.
Richard explains that the module does not teach you how to work with Navision. "So, for example, creating a sales order. This varies from company to company. You learn to work with Navision gradually. The e-learning is mainly a guide. The nice thing is that you can work independently with the module whenever it suits you. People learn to navigate through Navision this way. As a result, they are well-prepared when they receive function-specific instructions for the first time. We find that valuable. Moreover, you don't have to keep an eye on new employees when they are following an e-learning. That can also be convenient sometimes."
When Green Solutions needed an introductory course on Navision, Richard immediately thought of Mprise, which is now part of Axelio Academy. "I had previously taken courses with them, including in programming and reporting. Additionally, they once organized a themed afternoon for us on 'train-the-trainer', specifically for key users within our organization. That was also well received."

When we ask Richard what he particularly liked, his answer is short but powerful: "The courses are structured, clear, and well-organized. They provide breaks at the right moments. Important, because you notice that your head gets full at some point when you are learning something new." After a short pause, he adds with a smile: "And you get a good lunch. But joking aside, you can tell that the knowledge they have in-house is of a high level. Both technically and at the process level, right down to managing change processes."
Meanwhile, there is already a successor to Dynamics NAV 2017: Business Central. "We are considering transitioning to this in the future," says Richard. "And I can already predict what our first move will be." The structure of the e-learning Basic Skills Dynamics 365 Business is the same as that of the e-learning that Green Solutions has followed so far. Within a few hours, you will master how to navigate through Business Central.
