For an international organization like Regout Group, efficiency is essential. With locations worldwide, they opted for a modern ERP system that grows with their ambitions: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Before the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the organization worked with AX2009. The Regout Group consists of various companies including Thomas Regout International, Regout Balance Systems, Thomas Regout Incorporated, Drillmasters, and Thomas Regout BV and is based in Maastricht.

"Until recently, we worked with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, an outdated ERP system with a lot of customization that was no longer supported. We decided to invest in a best-of-breed landscape, selecting various specialized applications that could work well together," said Kusters, IT manager at Thomas Regout.

Functional and future-proof

The choice for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was based on two important factors. First, Business Central offered functionalities that perfectly aligned with the business processes within the Regout Group. "Business Central significantly improves our operations and provides a better work experience. Moreover, it eliminates the need for customization, which ensures the continuity of our system," added Kusters.

Additionally, the cost efficiency of Business Central played a crucial role. Kusters explained that quotes for Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations were initially twice as expensive as what they ultimately paid for Business Central.

Axelio, formerly Mprise, the implementation partner for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, was chosen not only for their technical expertise in the Microsoft Platform but also for their strategic thinking. "Axelio thinks along with us, even after the implementation. They help us not only with improving our ERP system but also with other Microsoft products," noted Kusters.

One of the biggest challenges was involving users in the change. The Regout Group and Axelio ensured that key users and stakeholders were involved from the beginning of the project. This led to a solution that not only better met the needs of the company but was also much better accepted by the users.

The relationship between the Regout Group and Axelio is characterized by mutual respect and trust. "Axelio always keeps their commitments, both in content and financially," said Kusters.

With Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the backbone of their IT landscape, the Regout Group is now ready to innovate further. They are currently exploring with Axelio how to leverage the Power Platform to make their business processes even more efficient.
